Thestandard battery was a dealer-installed replacement for the OEM battery. It was a Mopar part# BBoH8800AC. AR agreed that it was the wrong battery and installed an Interstate MTX-49-H8 Absorbent Glass Matt (AGM) battery. AR and the dealer told me that an AGM battery was the correct replacement for the OEM Varta battery.
Themost common signs of bad ignition coils in Alfa Romeo Stelvio are engine hesitation when accelerating or loss of power, rough idle, misfires, excessive fuel consumption, check engine light illuminates, and sometimes hard starting. In worst case scenario, if the ignition coils are in really bad condition, the engine will not start.
Thereare at least 2 fuseboxes (one in trunk, one in passenger footwell), possibly additional one under the hood. In addition of course to main fuses on positive terminal battery. USA manual: Stelvio USA manual. Note that in the giulia, there's a third fusebox under the hood, also not mentioned in the manual . Not sure about stelvio.
Thebatteries died in both key fobs for my 2018 Stelvio last fall. Both at the same time, which I thought was odd. The fobs worked great, then suddenly, nothing. 2017 Abarth 124 Spider, 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio TI Q4, 2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sport TI Q4. Located in Farmington NH. Save Share. Totalpower steering failure Well, after 6-7 mths of trouble free ownership from new, my Veloce's dashboard went fully up in lights on Monday night. The main warning lights i got were for AST! failure and all associated systems with it (ESC, collision detection etc.). The car felt very heavy to steer and felt like pre-power steering era cars!
Whenmy battery died the dealer exchanged it for free but not before testing like they did with you. They explained that Alfa Romeo wants them to run the test and document it otherwise they will not re-emburse them for the battery. Fair enough. As an electrical engineer though I would never put back in my car a battery that went to 4.6V
ServiceAdvisor talked to me and told me that Alfa states that unless the Stelvio is driven a minimum of 20 miles every two days, a battery tender is necessary, as the electronics never shut off. They will install the tender and make it easy to connect/disconnect for $250. This, THIS, should make the wife happy.
